The Algarve on the southern coast of Portugal has some of the finest beaches in Europe and is an ideal destination for those want to spend their time on a golf course or by a pool in your own private villa. The warm Mediterranean climate in this region ensures that you can traverse the hilly valleys inland or explore the rugged limestone caves during the day and relax in evening by sampling the local cuisine and dining al-fresco. Furthermore, with good airport connections to the Algarve at Faro means that this fantastic area of Portugal is very accessible to UK holidaymakers. Away from the Algarve, the rugged beaches along the Atlantic coast of Costa Verde provide an excellent opportunity for water sports or if you travel further south rocky coastlines are replaced with sandy beaches surrounded by lush green landscape around Costa Prata. The capital of Portugal, Lisbon is an excellent destination for short breaks and offers a variety of stunning architecture, welcoming cafes and wonderful views over the Atlantic Ocean. Finally, you can’t talk about Portugal without mentioning the islands of Madeira & Azores which are wonderful retreats if you want to enjoy a quiet family holiday.
