One of the larger properties on this complex, Icarus occupies a corner position with gardens on 3 sides, 2 patios, & a balcony to the main bedroom; it is one of the few with its own private roof terrrace for all day long sunbathing. Well-equipped spacious modern house. Free air-conditioning/heating. Dishwasher, washing machine, full cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer. Separate downstairs shower room and W.C. in addition to main bathroom. 1 double bedroom and 2 twins sleep 6 people in comfort. In addition there are two double sofa beds in the lounge area. Restaurants, bars, shops & beaches within walking distance.

The Paphos & Suburbs - Paphos Region region

One of the many great things about Paphos as a holiday destination is the short transfer time from the airport. We can arrange for a driver to pick you up at the airport with a key for the property. This will cost approximately CYP£10-20, and you should be in the house within half an hour.

Activities in and around Paphos include swimming, scuba diving, water-skiing, and other watersports, horse-riding, golf, tennis, bowling, walking, cycling. There are lots of places to visit, especially if you like ancient ruins or Byzantine churches. There's also lots for the nature lover. Loggerhead and Greenback Turtles nest on the beaches on the Akamas peninsular, and the rare moufflon may be glimpsed on the forested slopes of the Troodos mountains if you are lucky.

You don't need to hire a car as our house is within walking distance of both Kato Paphos and Upper Paphos. Kato Paphos is the more touristy area, with numerous restaurants and bars, etc. Nightlife is good, with plenty of bars and clubs staying open until the early hours, but without the excesses of Ayia Napa. There's a picturesque harbour with views to the old fort. There's a wealth of ancient ruins - visit the rock tombs or see the ancient mosaics at the House of Dionysis. There's an aquarium, a choice of beaches, banks and shops. If you need new glasses take the opportunity to visit one of the many opticians; spectacles are much cheaper than in U.K. In Upper Paphos there are more banks, shops and cafes; and a there's a market catering for both locals and tourists. It sells a range of items from fruit and vegetables to souvenirs. Nearby is the bus terminus, with buses to other major towns in Cyprus.

Local tour agents can arrange a variety of outings - coach or mini-bus trips to the many places of interest, jeep safaris, donkey rides, boat trips, mini-cruises to Rhodes, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt - even a day trip to Egypt by air.

If you do want the independence of your own hire car, then you can visit all the above and more at your own pace. There are good roads between the major towns, but for some areas a four-wheel drive would be more suitable.
