Murcia is about 30 minutes drive

Sleeps 6 (1-Double, 1-Sofa Double, 2-Singles) in 3 rooms. Comprises of Lounge, Kitchen, 2-Bedrooms, 2-Bathrooms, Sun Roof & Swimming Pool (at this time still to be completed). Only 5 minutes from Murcia Airport and 10 minutes from beach. From bedrooms there are views of Mountains and Orange groves. There are only 22 properties on this former market square. San Cayatano is a very small quiet village, with local bank, supermarket bakery & bars.

The Cartagena & Mar Menor - Murcia - Costa Calida region

Santiago de la Ribera has good beaches, a tiled promenade and the Royal Yacht Club of the Mar Menor is based here. It is located on the crystal clear Mar Menor which is a mecca for all kinds of watersports, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba or just swimming. Golf is never far away here with the 3 courses of Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas 10 minutes north, the 3 championship courses at La Manga Club 25 minutes south and no less than 10 others either being built or planned for the area!

Though a seaside resort, Santiago de la Ribera has a considerable permanent population and is a favourite of both northern Europeans and Spanish. It has all the normal facilities that you would need (banks, supermarkets and basic shops). It\'s proximity to the airport (5 minutes by car) makes it an ideal getaway resort and indeed with the low cost airlines now operating into the local airport of Murcia (San Javier), it introduces the concept of long weekends in Spain.

Further afield, the regional capitol of Murcia is about 30 minutes drive and has a host of fine buildings and shops. A 15 minute drive south is the old port city of Cartagena which has a good array of shops and old buildings even a Roman Amphitheatre. There are several protected areas within half hours drive, Calblanque and Sierra de Carrascoy regional parks and the Salinas bird sanctuary to name but 3.
