This beautiful 300 year old longere farmhouse is full of original character and makes an ideal holiday for a large group or 2 families sharing. It sleeps 10 comfortably with masses of living room space and a games room. There are 2 cots available also. The property also benefits from a superb outdoor heated private swimming pool. Available May to Sept. It is located just over the border from Normandy in Brittany in between Avranches and Fougeres. It is well positioned for visting all the tourist areas and local beaches only 20 minutes drive away. St James is only 5km away.
Ferry prices are very low with Speed Ferries who sail from Dover to Bologne. It is then a 4 hour drive to the house.
The Ille-et-Vilaine - Brittany region
The house is very private and has an acre of garden with a fully fenced heated swimming pool - this is available from May to September.
The kitchen is large and fully fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is a table seating 6, 2 armchairs and a woodburner.
The lounge is large and comfortable with a huge corner suite for 8 plus a settee for 2-3. There is a fireplace with a woodburner. Off the lounge is the garden room with 2 lounge chairs and a beautiful view over the gardens and pool area. Off this is a twin bedroom with 2 single beds, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Opposite is the downstairs toilet and shower room making it suitable for the elderly or those who find stairs difficult.
The dining room leads from the lounge and has a large farmhouse table for seating 8-12. A feature fireplace and 2 sets of french doors.
A door leads into the games room for children and adults. There is an adult size pub style pool table, table football, electronic darts game, tots play tent, selection of games and childrens toys. There is a small bar area with optics. This is a magnificent room full of character with huge exposed beams and a feature fireplace. It also has a leather chesterfield sofa, chair and stool allowing people to watch the games being played.
From the dining room a staircase leads upto the 1st floor mezzanine which has a fantastic view over the games room. There is a sofa and 2 armchairs enabling it to be used for relaxation. Down the corridor you come to a double bedroom and a twin bedroom both with their own washbasins. There is also a bathroom at the end of the corridor with toilet, basin and bath.
The pool is available from May - Sept. It has steps leading down into it and gradually slopes to the deepest part. It is fully fenced and gated, only 12ft from the house. There are sunloungers, garden chairs, patio tables, parasols and a barbeque all available at no extra charge.
