Villa Rocce is located near Todi. It is a recently remodeled and refurnished country house with delicious Umbrian accents. The location is absolutely charming. It dominates the waving Umbrian hills. From this altitude the horizon bends down, giving a unique point of view on this region.
Todi sits right in front of the villa, with its medieval character that makes it a much sought after destination. You will be able to reach it with a short drive and find all the necessities, in addition to the precious artistic and natural heritage it holds. Todi appears even more splendid from the large infinity pool in the garden. It will be like diving between nature and history, commanding views of yellow sunflower fields, and admiring the unbelievable Chapel of Bramante.
The garden is well tended to and adorned with hundreds of red roses that make the outdoors a special place to be at. The peaceful and quiet nature of this location is the perfect place to sun bathe and relax in total freedom.
The roomy indoors of the villa are very sunny thanks to the beautiful and large arch windows.
The villa can accommodate a max of 8 people in 4 bedrooms, each one with its own private bathroom. On the first floor there is a very large kitchen fully equipped with all modern comforts and a large stone fireplace, as it was customary of old villas in Umbria. From the kitchen you enter the splendid living room with cross vaulted ceilings. Here you will also find the dining area with a large table for 12 people and a large sitting area including satellite television. Near the living room there is an office room with fax machine. On this floor you will also find a large pantry with an extra freezer, a washing machine and a half bathroom with services.
Todi (in the Perugia province), with a 350 meter height above sea level, approximately midway between Florence and Rome. Todi is perched on a tall two-crested hill overlooking the east bank of the river Tiber, commanding distant views in every direction. In the 1990s, Richard S. Levine, a professor of architecture at the University of Kentucky, chose Todi as the model sustainable city, because of its scale and its ability to reinvent itself over time. After that, the Italian press reported on Todi as the world's most livable city.
In Umbria the fortified medieval hill towns are rich in art, history and architecture, and are relatively untouched by tourism. Gubbio, Spello, Todi, Spoleto, Deruta, Orvieto — all are unique and worthy of a visit. Perugia, the capital, is one of Italy’s best preserved towns, with a strong artistic and cultural tradition. Art, culture, historical sites, medieval villages and natural beauties (Trasimeno Lake, Marmore Falls, Bolsena Lake) can be easily reached from Villa Rocce.
