This lovingly renovated country house is situated in a peaceful valley surrounded by
gentle rolling hills, meadows and small areas of forest. The valley is approximately halfway between the two villages of Santa Barbara and Santo Espirito, both of which are just a five minute drive away.
There is just one family living in the valley, at an agreeable distance.

The main house consists of a combined kitchen/living area, two bedrooms and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
The house delights in such details as traditional handpainted tiles or „azulejos“ and solid-oak french-style furniture.
Adjoining the guest house is the generous-sized patio, with sheltered BBQ and a small open-air kitchen area, which is ideal for functions or parties.

The Santa Maria Island - Azores region
The whole coastline of Santa Maria Island is very indented, both in headlands and inlets that offer excellent conditions for water-based sports.
Picos - A group of peaks right at the centre of Santa Maria, where there are vestiges of the original vegetation, as discovered by the first settlers on the island.
Pico Alto - Situated in the central zone of the island, this is the highest point in the municipality of Vila do Porto (587m high). Remains of the original vegetation can be found here: cedars, junipers, wax-myrtles, and mosses.
The volcanic origin of the island, offer speleologists deep furrows and tunnels known as “Furnas”, were the land’s secrets may be explored. Worthy of a visit is the “Furna dos Anjos”, with a length of 118 meters.
Anjos - the small village is historically very significant as the first landfall of Christopher Columbus on this return from America.
