Indulgence Divine description
Close to Inquisitor's Palace and the Vittoriosa Marina
Lovely roof terrace with plants
Bespoke furniture and luxurious fabrics
Indulgence Divine is a 16th century town house in the ancient maritime city of Vittoriosa, Malta. The house has been restored with an injection of colour and sensuous design to make it a romantic and exciting base from which to explore the archipelago.
The intimate blend of contemporary design and history works perfectly. No dark mahogany, no crimson damask or scarlet velvet and gilded pelmets. Instead traditional materials are used such as in the large wooden apertures or the lovely Carrara marble table top. History is respected (you'll notice the centuries old marine graffiti on the bedroom walls) but not mimicked.
After a full day exploring the islands' rich history and culture, Indulgence Divine's spacious private roof terrace ensures lovely evenings with nothing but a glass of wine and a good book for company.

The Vittoriosa - Island of Malta region
History:
When the maritime Knights Hospitaller arrived in Malta in 1530, they chose the settlement next to the Grand Harbour.
The Hospitallers adopted the town, fortifying and embellishing it. Following the Great Siege of 1565, it was bestowed with the name Vittoriosa.
Present:
Although World War II destroyed considerable chunks of Vittoriosa, today its blueprint remains unchanged with Auberges, Palaces and churches dating from the time of the Order’s arrival, to their post- Siege move to Valletta.

Casa Rocca Piccola was built in the late 16th Century for Don Pietro La Rocca, a Knight of Malta and an Admiral. On his death it was left to the Italian Langue of The Knights to house some of the more important Italian Knights of Malta. However for the last 200 years some of Malta’s more famous and illustrious families have occupied Casa Rocca Piccola. Take bus from Vittoriosa to Valletta (12 mins) and walk down Republic Street.
Shrouded in mystery – the home of the Roman Inquisition in malta - whoever passed though its door was sworn to secrecy – it fuelled the imagination of the masses, at a time when the Church still ruled supreme and ignorance was rife. Just around the corner from Indulgence Divine
Thought to be originally a sanctuary, it became a necropolis in prehistoric times. It is the only prehistoric underground temple in the world. Take bus from Vittoriosa to Valletta and stop in Paola (10 mins)
