Featured by The Guardian newspaper amongst the best five Valentine Escapes - Valletta G-House is a graceful holiday home within the walls of Valletta, a World Heritage City on the islands of Malta. This 16th century period house has been restored with love and attention to detail, equipped with all mod cons while still maintaining its original character.
When travelling with my partner to various destinations worldwide we always look for particular places to stay - properties that carry their location’s singular stamp and character. We look for accommodation that reflects the country’s history and culture in both architecture and furnishings. This is what we had in mind when we chose and refurbished Valletta G-House.
Valletta G-House is as far removed from the blandness of hotels and normal holiday lets as you can get. Going through the pictures and information on this website you will get a taste of the sheer pleasure of staying in a house that feels like home... well, more like what we aspire our home to be - central, comfortable and full of character.
Valletta G-House has one large double bedroom with a traditional Maltese wooden balcony, a sitting/TV room, a fully equipped kitchen/dining room and bathroom.

The Valletta - Island of Malta region
With its magnificent baroque architecture and floodlit bastions, numerous beautiful churches, palaces and friendly people, Valletta is a delightful city. It’s slightly faded glory and its narrow side streets, its Grand Harbour will all remain imprinted in your memory long after your holiday in Malta has ended.
Within walking distance you will find museums, numerous Baroque churches and a magnificent Cathedral, theatres, art galleries and an increasing number of good quality restaurants.

Europe's third-oldest working theatre (oldest working theatre in the Commonwealth). It is also Malta's National Theatre and home to the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. Built in 1731 by the Grand Master of the Knights of Malta - António Manoel de Vilhena. Walk up Republic Street, turn right into Old Theatre Street (10 minute walk).
Casa Rocca Piccola was built in the late 16th Century for Don Pietro La Rocca, a Knight of Malta and an Admiral. On his death it was left to the Italian Langue of The Knights to house some of the more important Italian Knights of Malta. However for the last 200 years some of Malta’s more famous and illustrious families have occupied Casa Rocca Piccola. Walk up Republic Street - it's on the left (3 minutes walk).
Exceptional array of artefacts from Malta’s unique prehistoric periods, starting with the first arrival of man in the Ghar Dalam phase (5200 BC) and running up to the Tarxien phase (2500 BC). The collection is housed in the Auberge de Provence, one of the first buildings to be erected after the Great Siege in the late 16th century.
Housed in a 16th Century fort, the centre is home to a small theatre-in-the-round, an arthouse cinema, a chamber music room and gallaries. SJC aims to be a catalyst for the contemporary art scene in Malta. 15 minutes walk from Valletta G-House.
