The perfect place to relax and enjoy the Turkish countryside
Lale Evi is an architect designed, rustic cottage located on the beach road outside the charming village of Dalyan. It is in a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by fields of pomegranate trees with mountains all around. The cottage is set back from the road in an extensive garden (1,600m2) with a large private pool (50m2) and pergola. It has a spacious terrace along the front and side of the house which is draped with bougainvillea – the perfect place to relax and dine. The garden is lawn throughout with palm trees, pomegranate trees, banana palms and oleander shrubs. Inside, the cottage is spacious, with lounge, open plan kitchen, bathroom and a double bedroom on the ground floor. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin, and a second bathroom. The double bedroom has small private balcony with views of fields and mountains. The upper floor of the cottage has attic style sloping wooden ceilings and both bathrooms are individually designed with marble fittings hand made by local craftsmen. Most windows and the French doors to the terrace have mosquito nets. All bedrooms and the lounge have air conditioning. The wooden furniture and beds have all been made by a local craftsman.
Our Turkish neighbours run a small organic vegetable garden and sell seasonal vegetables along with a rustic café serving organic breakfast and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice.
The Dalyan area has been awarded the status of a Turkish National Park and is an exceptionally beautiful area. The beaches are protected as they are where the endangered Loggerhead sea turtles lay their eggs in the summer months.
The house was built in 2006 and this is the first year that we are making it available for guests

The Dalyan - Turquoise Coast & Lycia region
The Dalyan area has been awarded the status of a Turkish National Park and is an exceptionally beautiful area. The beaches are protected due to the loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs there in the summer months. Consequently, there is no building or development by the sea.
The beach is a beautiful, 7km long sand spit with wonderful sand and mountains around. One end is known as Dalyan beach and the other is called Iztuzu beach. Both beaches have a simple wooden cafe and sun loungers and umbrellas for hire. At Dalyan beach you can choose to swim in the lake or walk across the sand and swim in the sea.
The Dalyan region is rich in archaeological interest and has its own rock tombs and ancient city of Kaunos, dating back some 3000 years.
The town of Dalyan lies on the edge of the river and has many excellent restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. The fresh fruit and vegetables sold in Dalyan are mostly organic and are reasonably priced with wonderful water melons, melons and other fresh fruit and salad ingredients in summer.
There are two routes to the beach; along the road on which the cottage is situated or via a boat from the harbour in Dalyan:
By road - the journey time is approximately 15 minutes, passing a beautiful lake and meandering up the mountain road before descending to the beach. There are Dolmus buses running approximately every 30 mins (in summer) which will pick you up and drop you off at the end of the driveway.
By boat - there are public boats (also called Dolmus) to the other end of the beach which leave from the harbour in the village. The boats travel along the river, through a maze of reed beds known as the Dalyan Delta and finally arrive at Dalyan beach. The views of the mountains all around are spectacular. The journey takes approximately 40 mins and boats run approximately every 30 mins.

The charming lounge has lots of daylight and a brick built fireplace. It is open plan to the kitchen and dining room. There are two sofas, a high backed chair, coffee table, side tables, CD player and Ipod player, along with Turkish kilim carpets. There are French windows and front door leading to the terrace.

The kitchen is open plan and fully equipped with electric kettle, crockery, cutlery, etc. There is an electric oven, gas hob, extractor fan, fridge, freezer and ample marble worktops.

Towels and linen are included and the cottage is cleaned before every changeover. Cleaning equipment is provided and additional cleaning services can be arranged if required.
