Perched on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding valley and forests of Meur and Avagour, Quatorze is a traditional detached south facing Breton stone longere which we have lovingly converted into luxury holiday accommodation. Pen Lehart is a tiny hamlet in Côtes d’Armor, approximately 10 miles from Guingamp, Quintin and Chatelaudren. Whilst we have a handful of friendly neighbours, none of them are within 'peeking' distance affording us and our guests complete privacy. Also in the Hamlet is the very pretty 16th century Chapelle Tugdual, built by the Lords of Senven Lehart and home to the annual Pardon and Fete in July. At the West door there is a Gaulish Stele that until the 20th Century childless women would visit and touch in order to get pregnant.
The views from Quatorze are stunning and interesting whatever the weather and there are lovely walks and cycle rides from the doorstep. Quatorze in Pen Lehart is a tranquil spot, where people come to relax and enjoy lifes more simple pleasures.

The Cotes d’Armor - Brittany region
The Coast is 30 minutes away, so too is lake Guerledan in the other direction. Inbetween are many beautiful and fascinating towns and villages, notably Quintin, Guingamp and Chatelaudren. The lane which passes by the property turns into a track leading down to the River Trieux, from here there are many wonderful opportunities to roam or cycle. The river can be fished and the nearby Lake Conan (4 mins in the car) boasts some of the best fishing in the area.
Quatorze overlooks the 1100 hectares of the ancient forests and lakes of Meur and Avagour. The forest has mountain biking trails suitable for beginners and family groups; more challenging routes for experienced bikers; and a choice of picturesque walking trails. Of course, in addition to the paths through the forest, there are miles and miles of sheltered country roads, making it ideal walking and cycling territory. The forest is famous in the area for wild mushrooms, particularly Parasols which are delicious. There is a Visitor Centre with picnic tables, ample parking and lots of information on what to do and see in the area.
Drive off in any direction from Quatorze and within a few miles you will be in on the edge of a charming town or village. Guingamp, Chatelaudren and Quintin are our local towns, the latter two being Petite Cité de Caractère (small towns of character) with typical french market days , specialist shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants.

The garden wraps around the property, there is a large circular drive at the front with parking for 5 vehicles, a small courtyard area in front of the cottage with flower garden. At the rear is a large grassed area with fruit trees. The deck is 5m x 8m with built in seating and there are plenty of chairs and tables. There is a BBQ, a hammock seat in the great oak and a fire pit at the bottom of the garden.

Notes to rental charges: Quatorze Cottage is a 3 bedroom property with a 1 bedroom self contained apartment, there is an interconnecting door into the cottage and when renting the Cottage you have use of the Apartments sitting room. You can choose to rent out the extra bedroom and bathroom too for £100 per week which you simply add onto the flat rental charge but if you dont require 4 bedrooms then we simply lock them and you pay the flat rental charge.
Alternatively you may choose to use this area as a self contained unit thereby enabling two groups or larger family parties to holiday together but not get under one anothers feet. The self contained unit is all on the ground floor level and suitable for guests who have reduced mobility.
Please note: We do not let The Apartment as a seperate unit between May and September, when renting Quatorze Cottage you get the whole property to yourselves.
