The following document will guide you through the registration process
and should be consulted prior to signing up or if you have any difficulties
submitting your property to the website. Please use the links below
to navigate through this page.
Important Notes:
1) If you have made an error when completing a page then
an red error message will appear at the top of the screen stating the mistakes that you
have made.
2) On some pages you will be instructed to select the advert that
needs modifying through a drop down menu that looks similar to this:  .
If you have multiple adverts then you must ensure that you select
the correct advert prior to making any changes to its description,
prices & images etc. This should prevent you from accidentally
making changes to the wrong advert.
Sign Up Process
To ensure that the sign up process goes smoothly please try to complete
the following tasks in this order:-
Enter your personal details > Review
your personal details > Add a new advert > Enter property details > Upload Images > Enter prices > Complete availability
chart > Add special offers (optional) > Preview
advert > Create additional adverts (optional) > Pay for your advert(s) > Logout
Enter Personal Details
At the start of this process you will have to fill in your personal
details i.e. Name, address, telephone number, email address etc.
You will also have to select a username and a password. Please note
that your username is always the same as your email address. Please
ensure that passwords must be between 6-10 characters in length.
(Note: Passwords are case sensitive).
Please complete all mandatory fields and press submit to save your
details.
Your Account
After you have entered your personal details you will be redirected
to the page, "Your account". This page shows you the personal
details that you have just entered into the system and also states
your owner ID number, the date when you registered, your advert ID
numbers (if you have any), the start and expiry dates of your adverts.
If you would like to change any of your personal details then please
click on the "Personal Details" link.
Personal Details
The personal details page is very similar in appearance
to the sign up page, however, you are unable to change your username
& password on this page. Please save all changes that you have
made by clicking "submit".
Adding A New Advert
To create a new advert please click on the "Add New Advert" link .
When creating a new advert please ensure that you select the correct
country, region and area for your property. This is extremely important
as this cannot be changed at a later date. Please ensure that all
fields have been completed.
If you find that the there is no selectable
option for the region or area where your property is located then
can you select the region or area that is closest to your property.
We have strived to implement a system where regions and areas accurately
reflect the geographical areas of the countries that are listed on
the website and we regret if mistakes have been made.
Please ensure that have read and accept the terms & conditions
for the use of the website and then press "Submit" to move
onto the next stage.
N.B. We
currently only advertise property in the following countries:
Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Caribbean, Cyprus, England, Florida,
France, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Scotland,
Spain, Thailand, Turkey & Wales.

Details Page
On this page you are instructed to enter details
on your property. You will be asked to give descriptions of the property
and its local area together with summaries on local activities, features
& facilities at the property and the contact details for this
advert. The following points briefly give you assistance to complete
this page:-

features to qualify. Please select all options which apply to

Distances to nearby features &
attractions
Please indicate the distance to these features in either metres,
kilometres or miles.
Please leave blank any that do not apply to your property.
Title/Name of Property
Please enter the title or name of your property.
Please note that this will appear at the top of your advert.
If your property does not have a specific name then please can
you enter an appropriate title. I.e. Provencal Villa or Costa
del Sol Apartment or English Cottage etc.
Summary of Property
This text will appear towards the top of your advert and should
briefly describe your property in no more than 20 words. E.g.
Modern, luxurious villa with private pool & spacious garden
overlooking the Mediterranean
Property
description
Please give a detailed description of your property
which encompasses all its features. Describe the individual
rooms of the property and provide information on the pool and
garden etc. Although there is no word limit we advise that you
write no more than 1000 words.
Local Area
Please describe the town/area where you property is located,
stating all the attractions & sights of interest in the
area. We recommend that you write no more than 1000 words for
this section.
Property features
Please select all the features which apply to your property
Suitability
Please select all options which apply to your
property.
Living room summary
Please describe your living room in no more than 250 characters
(approx 50 words). E.g. Large spacious living room with open
fire and widescreen TV. The room is bathed in sunlight throughout
the day and elegantly decorated with local artefacts. There
are sofas and chairs to seat up to 4 people.
Bedrooms summary
Please describe your bedrooms in no more than 250 characters.
E.g. There are 3 en-suite bedrooms in the property which all
contain double bedrooms and have adjoining shower rooms. The
master bedroom overlooks the sea whilst the remaining bedrooms
have fantastic panoramic views of the countryside. All of the
bedrooms have large wardrobes which ample space to store clothes.
Local area
activities list
Please list all the local activities in your area (no more than
250 characters). E.g. Walking, climbing, cycling, water sports,
sailing, surfing, windsurfing, canoeing, horse riding, paragliding,
fishing, golf, swimming, tennis, diving, skiing.
Contact details - email address
Please ensure that the email address is between 6-10 characters
in length & of the form someone@something.com (i.e. help@villaholidayhomes.com).
This is the email address through which you will receive enquiries
from holidaymakers.
Contact details - telephone numbers
Please ensure that you always state the country dialling code
and the area code when you input a telephone or mobile number.
Contact details - website address
When completing the website address field please ensure you
include the full URL location. i.e. the address should be http://www.villaholidayhomes.com not villaholidayhomes.com . Unfortunately we
cannot add any links to other rival holiday letting website. |

Images
After completing the property details page you will be redirected
to the image page.
Uploading Images
To upload an image please click on the 'browse' button and locate
the image on your computer. Then press upload to add the image to
our system. Repeat this process until you have finished uploading
all your images. If you want to change an existing image please click
on the 'remove' button and repeat the process detailed above.
If you are changing images please make sure that you press the "Refresh"
button or "F5" several times (after you have uploaded the
image), until the preview thumbnail of the new image is updated and
appears on this page.
Please note that all images must be less than 500kb (0.5mb) and must be in jpeg format (.jpg or .jpeg)
Changing
the image type to Jpeg.
This process should work for the majority of photo editing
packages such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and Microsoft Photo
Editor:
1) Open the image, 2) Click ‘Save As’, 3) enter a name
for the image, 4) select ‘JPEG’ as the file type you would
like to save the image in, 5) click ‘OK’ or ‘Save’,
6) upload the new image.
If you are trying to upload large images then it
will take a long time to complete this process – especially
on a dial-up connection. Therefore we recommend that you resize the
images by following the instructions below:-
Resizing the images if they are too large
If the images
you are trying to upload are too large then you can resize them
in a photo editing package. We have provided some instructions on
how to do this in different programs:-
Adobe Photoshop:
1) Open the image
2) Click on the 'image' menu then click 'Image Size'.

If the image is landscape then
enter '306' into the width box. Please ensure that 'pixels'
is selected in the drop down menu and the 'Constrain Proportions'
box is checked. Click ‘OK’. |

If the image is portrait then
enter ‘229’ into the height box. Again please ensure
that 'pixels' is selected in the drop down menu and the 'Constrain
Proportions' box is checked. Click ‘OK’. |
4) To finish click ‘File’ then ‘Save As’.
Enter a name for the image and select ‘JPEG’ from the
format list. Click ‘Save’, followed by ‘OK’
if you are presented with a JPEG option window.
5) Upload your new image
Jasc Paint Shop Pro:
1) Open the image
2) Click on ‘image’ then ‘resize’

is selected and the ‘Maintain Aspect Ratio’ box
is checked. Click ‘OK’. |

4) To finish click ‘File’ then ‘Save As’.
Enter a name for the image and select ‘JPEG’ from the
save as type list. Click ‘Save’ to finish this process.
5) Upload the image
Sending Images by Email:
If you would like to email your images to us at a later date then
please send them to images@villaholidayhomes.com making sure you quote your advertiser ID and advert ID in the subject
header.

There is no additional charge for the use this service. We endeavour
to upload hardcopy images with 24 hours of receiving them.
After completing the image page you need to create a
price table, availability (optional) and a special offer (optional).
You can navigate to these pages by using the links located at the
left-hand side of the page.

Layout
You have a large degree of freedom when creating the price table.
You can state the time period and the corresponding price in your

Price Table - Notes to price table
Please state any additional
notes to the rental charges (250 characters max). For instance, state
any deposits which are required to be paid, minimum lengths of lettings,
the changeover day etc.
E.g. The changeover day for the property is flexible. There is a security
deposit of £500 which must be paid prior to booking and is refundable
on departure. The minimum let for this property is 2 weeks. Discounts
for longer lets and larger groups.
Please press submit to save all changes you have made to this page.
Availability
Please update your availability when you initially signup. To make
a particular date as being booked or unavailable then check the particular
box on that date.
Example: For instance if you have bookings at this particular property
from 1st September 2005 - 8th September 2005 then check the boxes
1st Sep, 2nd Sept, 3rd Sept, 4th Sept, 5th Sept, 6th Sept, 7th Sept,
8th Sept. Conversely if a previously booked period becomes available
then please uncheck all boxes which correspond to these dates.
Please press "submit" to save all changes before changing
the availability for another year.
Special Offers
If you would like to add a special offer then select the option "Yes,
I would like to add a special offer " and enter the special offer
description into the text field.
If you want to remove a special offer select the option "No,
I would not like to a have a special offer" and then delete all
text from the text field.
Preview Advert
When you have completed all sections in the signup process you can
preview your advert by clicking on the 'Preview advert link'.
Create additional adverts (optional)
If you have additional properties which you would like to
add to our website then please click on the 'add new advert' link.
Pay for your advert(s)
Once you have completed the sign up process, please proceed to pay for your advert. You can obtain additional information on paying for your advert by clicking here.
